How To Give Your Home a More Cohesive Look
While saving you headaches and valuable resources.
It’s easy to scroll through websites of major furniture and decor companies looking at things that you would like to have for your home. They may look great, have a great price and think you know the perfect placement for it. While there is nothing wrong with this its important to think of your over all aesthetic and how to achieve that on a budget. Often times, scrolling endlessly through a webpage finally finding what you like and receiving it to find that it’s not the look or comfort level you were hoping for can easily drain your time, energy and money leaving you with a home that is polarized by things you liked pictures of online 3 months ago, last month and maybe this week without considering the overall design nor architecture of your home. Here are some tips to help.

Don’t spend endless hours on websites. Call the store and ask them if they have something similar to what you are specifically looking for. If they have it in stores go check it out. There’s nothing like actually sitting on or interacting with the furniture, looking at swatches or feeling its form and shape.
Look to your home's architecture. The architecture of your home will tell you a lot about the design that would look best in your home. You don’t have to follow this religiously but use it as a guide to help you. The last thing you want to end up with is mid-century modern furniture in a gothic revival architecture style home.
Think of the space surrounding you. How tall is your ceiling? How are the walls shaped? What is the spacial plan of each of the rooms in relation to one another? If you have an open floor plan its best that you keep all the rooms that are open in the same style. If you have smaller rooms go for different colors that you discover from room to room however styles and design elements should still align.
