Adding a bottle rack, organizing with trays - simple ideas to help you create your personalized bar at home
Whether you are an occasional drinker or a die-hard end-the-day-with-a-drink-in-my-hand kind-of-person, having a bar at home is an important addition to your space. Days have been starting to blur since April and now with the rest of the year looking pretty much the same, it’s a great time to make little improvements to our lives and spaces at home. Setting up a home bar is easy and will give you a space you can enjoy everyday, whether you’re a drinker to not. There are so many drink ingredients and snacks you can add to have fun setting up your home bar. The tips below will guide you through actionable steps to help you get started in creating your perfect home bar.
Rack it Up. Some bottles are beautiful standing on their own. They don’t need to go anywhere but front and center on your bar countertop. For the most part though, bottles start looking the same when you have a number of them standing together like a team huddle at a high school football game. Break it up and give yourself more counter space with a brass or wood wine rack depending on the style you are going for.

Drinkware. If you have mismatched glasses – lone survivors from different sets that have broken over the years with the more parties you had – it may be time for a new glassware set. Whether you mix and match glasses or buy a set, keep them cohesive with your bar’s style. For example, if you buy that gold rimmed wine glass set try to find something else like dipping bowls that compliment them.
Tray Chic. Set up your bar with trays that carry everything you need. One tray can hold the snacks while the other holds the glasses. Trays will make your bar look like a bar. They help to organize and arrange glasses and help clear counter clutter as well. It’s okay to leave some pieces out of the tray though so that the counter looks styled, not cramped into trays.

Accessorize. If you don’t already have them, shop for some items like a unique wine stopper, cocktail shaker or an ice bucket with tongs. You can buy them as a set or shake things up buying them individually for a special look. Mix it up with several unique tongs, or any other decorative accessory you choose to include in your bar like coasters, straws, stone set, and so on.
Bar Carts. Whether they are vintage or more modern, no bar would be complete without a bar cart. Having a bar cart will make life so much nicer, enjoying that Strawberry Margarita from any chair in your home without having to balance your drink and risking that spill. Dip the rim in salt without even getting up! It really doesn’t get lazier or better than that.
